More players could be heading out on loan as St Albans City’s “big” players return from injury.

Central midfielder Matt Taylor is the latest City player to be loaned out, he joined Potters Bar last week and scored the winner in the 3-2 friendly win over Harlow Town on Tuesday. Danny Green also had a two-month spell at the Scholars.

Joint manager James Gray said: “Matt needs games so this is the perfect opportunity for him to get some minutes under his belt.”

And he could be adopting the same policy with other young players with the likes of Ben Martin, Ryan Wharton, Howard Hall and Darren Locke returning from injury and the acquisitions of Jamal Lowe and Tom Ward on loan from Barnet and Gainsborough Trinity, respectively.

“A few more might go out to get game time but we don’t want to break the squad up,” added Gray.
