CITY of St Albans Swimming Club squad competed at the Maxwell Gala in Aylesbury at the weekend.

Jack Baron in the Under 15s backstroke and Matthew Henson in the Under 17s freestyle each picked up a gold in their events, and Charlotte Henson came second in the Under 15s Individual Medley.

For the young swimmers the event was an opportunity to improve their times over the longer distances, and they did not disappoint. Lauren Winfield and Luke Foster in the Under 11s group each recorded three new personal bests, and Heather Geers set two new bests. Lauren also picked up bronze in the 200m backstroke. In the Under 13s group Madeleine Geers and Zac Horne also recorded new best times.

Focus now switches to the Speedo National League competition in October. To join CoStA visit Westminster Lodge on Monday nights.
