Harpenden Arrows’ members were racing across the country with members taking part in the 250th Edinburgh Park Run, where a record field of 641 runners completed.

Brian Yates recorded a new personal best and was the first home for the MV70-74 in 27mins 24secs. The club’s other runners were John Rowlands (22.56), Janice Nisbet (25.16), Colette Pidgeon (29.41) and Tina Pidgeon (29.40).

Arrows also had runners at the Burnham Beeches half marathon in Berkshire. Michael Hessey led the team home in 1hr 37mins, followed by Philippa O’Donovan (1:44), Graham Harper (1:49), Jennifer Cunniff (1:51) and Victoria Moran (2:10).

Braving a rather different race format, Emily Hooper and Philippa O’Donovan bared all at Streak for Tigers at the Zoological Society of London. The event raised £30,000 for the society’s conservation projects.
