RUGBY UNION: WOOLLAMS will play host to a charity rugby match this Friday in aid of Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer UK.

The game will see an Old Albanian XV take on an Old Verulamians side, who'll be taking to the pitch in their new pink kit.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and entry is free.

There will be buckets around the ground for people to make donations towards the two charities.

Matt Luckhurst of Old Verulamians is the man behind the evening and he revealed how it came about.

"I was trying to get a new second team kit and I was looking through the colours with my Dad," said Matt.

"He said we should go for pink and blue and have the Breast Cancer UK and Cancer Research logos on it.

"I rang Breast Cancer UK and Cancer Research and they agreed and sent us some buckets.

"There will be more events throughout the year and we'll have donation buckets at our games."

A proportion of the players' subs for the game will also go to the charities.
