Wheathampstead 129 lost to Hemel Hempstead II 193 by 64 runs
THE Nomanlanders lost to high riding Hemel Hempstead after asking the visitors to bat first. Hemel went on to make 193-10 in 53 overs with J Graves top scoring with 37.
Nick Martin provided early encouragement clean bowling the Hemel opener from the third ball of the game but the middle order batsmen played well to steer the recovery.
Hashmi picked up three wickets in his six-over spell at the close and Wheato were pleased enough with their bowling efforts.
However only Chris Martin (40) and J Ghulum (23) got to grips with the dual spin attack and the frailty of Wheato's batting was again in evidence as the 129-10 score suggests.
