Langleybury 3 Wheathampstead W. 4
Comeback kids Wheathampstead progressed to the quarter-final of the Sir Stanley Rous Cup beating Langleybury away 4-3 with easily their best performance of the season.
Wanderers conceded their customary early goal from a set-piece but Rory Scott soon restored the balance with a superb header.
Angus Raeside rounded the Bury keeper to put Wheato 2-1 ahead who were now playing with confidence, aggression and neat interpassing. Langleybury however took advantage of errors and turned around 3-2 in the lead. Full-back Adem Berkay pounced on a defensive mix-up to draw level and Josh Mawhinney threaded his shot through a crowded box to score inside the far post and put his team through to the quarters.
Richard Foord excelled back between the sticks but every Wanderers player shone.
