KWIK CRICKET: A ST ALBANS Junior School took part in the recent Asda Kwik Cricket Girls National Finals held at Derbyshire CCC.
Wheatfields Junior School made the trip have qualified from their regional qualifying event, making them one of the top 16 primary schools in the country following a competition which started out with 12,000 schools and 30,000 girls.
Wheatfields were placed in Group D of the event where they took on schools from Salisbury, Newcastle and Scarborough. It was a mixed day for Wheatfields losing their first two games before beating Northstead primary school comfortably.
The girls also got to meet England Ashes winner Caroline Atkins who signed the girls’ shirts and bats.
