St Albans Wanderers 4 Bedwell 3
DESPITE many regulars being absent over the Easter Weekend, Wanderers still managed to complete the double over their Stevenage opponents.
It was Bedwell who scored first, but Steve Owen then fed the ball through for Rich Francis to stroke the ball past the 'keeper for the equaliser.
The visitors regained the lead before half-time, but Francis and Owen combined again for the home team, with the latter beating two before passing into an empty net.
Wanderers thought that they had won the game when Owen scored his second with just five minutes left, but Wanderers failed to clear a corner soon after and Bedwell were back in the game.
In a thrilling finale, Ed Garrod rose highest to head in a Tim Attwood corner and the home victory was assured.
Wanderers have now only to prepare for their Benevolent Cup Final, at London Colney FC (KO 7.30pm) on Thursday, April 15.
