Georgie Walker was beaten in the quarter-final of the 16U girls’ singles at the Nike Junior National Tennis championships.
The Harpenden youngster was beaten by number one seed Eden Richardson 6-4, 6-3 at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
The championships are the highest level competition for all juniors and the pinnacle of the summer domestic calendar. The tournament features more than 250 players across four age groups and is a showcase for British tennis and the best junior talent in the country. Having run for over 100 years, the tournament has an illustrious line of past winners including Andy Murray, Heather Watson, Tim Henman and Elena Baltacha.
