St Albans City were knocked out of the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday evening by Hemel Hempstead.
The game at Vauxhall Road ended 4-3 but was marred by controversy as City joint boss James Gray was sent off after trying to substitute David Keenleyside before Hemel’s second goal.
The Saints staged a late comeback with John Frendo netting twice, once from the penalty spot, but they fell a goal short of forcing extra-time.
