Dunstable II 165 all out (50.2) Shenley Village 168-2 (39)

ANOOJ Vadgama fired an unbeaten century as Shenley Village defeated Dunstable II at Lancot Park in Division Three.

Dunstable won the toss and elected to bat first on an overcast afternoon. Opener Gypps (36) and Barker (30) put on a good partnership after losing the early wicket of Skinner (9). When Gypps fell, a major batting collapse took place. Shenley's Lloyd Willingham bowled impressively with figures of 5-51, as did the in-form James Davenall (2-38).

The home team staged a mini recovery with Keogh making 43, but Dunstable were eventually all out for 165 after 50.2 overs.

In reply, the visitors got off to a good start with opener Anooj Vadgama scoring 30 from the first five overs.

Two quick wickets fell but Shenley recovered with Craig Rawlings (38) and the brilliant Vadgama (112 not out) to secure the victory on 168-2 with 10 overs to spare. Blake (1-23) was the pick of the Dunstable bowlers.

Shenley Village moved up to eighth place in the Division III table and on Saturday travel to struggling Ickleford who are chasing their first win of the season.
