HAMPTON & Richmond boss Alan Devonshire will not be taking up the vacant manager's position at Cambridge United after Us chairman George Rolls revealed he would not be taking their discussions any further.

Rolls told the Us official website: "We have seen Alan Devonshire, and we are grateful to Hampton & Richmond for granting permission to speak to him, but unfortunately we won't be taking it further."

One person who won't be at the Beaveree next season is winger Shaun McAuley who has signed for Eastleigh. The 24-year-old had been with the Beavers since 2007 and Spitfires boss Ian Baird revealed he's been a long time admirer. Baird told the Daily Echo: "I've admired him for the last couple of years. He's always caused us problems when he's played against us. He's quick with plenty of energy."
