TOWNSEND bowling club suffered an unwanted hat trick of defeats at the weekend with the low point being a trophy loss to Century.
The defeat was made all the more miserable as Townsend conceded a strong lead to go down 99-95 and now face a tough second leg clash in July.
The club played the first leg of their trophy game against Owls losing 95-64 and this game came after Townsend B lost 35-31 to St Albans A in the EBA 2 fours with everyone complementing the St Albans club on the high standard of their green.
Townsend A took on Welwyn Garden City on Wednesday in the EBA 2 fours, a competition they have a good record in and on Thursday they are in action in the Top Club competition and hope for success.
