Two members from Bushido Hombu Karate Club in St Albans have been promoted.

Instructor Richard Telford-Nicholson, who has been running the club’s Shinka dojo in Hatfield, was promoted to 2nd Kyu following several months of evaluation and a final two-hour examination test.

As well as continually improving his own understanding and standard, he has also produced several of the club’s top members

Isobel Stokes, a micro-biology student at University of Hertfordshire, was promoted to 3rd kyu and also qualified as a Level 1 club instructor.

Stoke is a key member of the club and continue to assist chief instructor Kevin Archibald in the running of the Hombu dojo and self defence courses. She but will also take responsibility for the Shinka dojo in Hatfield alongside Telford-Nicholson.
