HARPENDEN Town suffered two defeats as they went down to Cranfield United on Saturday and Amersham Town on Tuesday.

Ali Collins and Iaian Turkentine put Harpenden 2-0 up and in command against Cranfield at home. The match changed with 16 minutes to go when Mick Hughes struck a goal back and then goals in the final 10 minutes from Carl Simms and Dominic Lawless (two) ensured Cranfield recorded a spectacular 4-2 win.

On Tuesday former Colney Heath forward Stuart Blackburne scored twice as Amersham Town took command. Visitors Harps were 3-0 down at the break and scored a consolation effort late on through Anthony Golder.

Harpenden host Bedford Town Reserves on Saturday and will be looking for their first win of the campaign but face a tough task against a side with four straight wins.
