Townsend Bowls Club has won the first title of the St Albans and District season, the Maurice Watson Trophy.
Held at Potters Bar, Townsend beat Welwyn Garden City by 28 shots to scoop the award.
The Townsend team was Robbie Ransted, Les Perkins, David Day and Peter Thomson.
In the Top 10 tournament, Townsend travelled to Whithern, near Cheshunt, and came away victorious by three rinks to one and by 74 shots to 63. Danny Macro led the way with a win in the singles by 21-16, followed by Carl Robinson, Robbie Ransted and Alan Charran`s excellent 23-9 score. The fours, comprising Barry Robinson, David Day, Roger Potter and Peter Armstrong, recorded a 19-11 victory.
In two midweek friendlies, Townsend beat Redbourn 91-46 and Harpenden by three shots.
