THREE defeats made it a tough time for Townsend during a busy run of matches.

Local rivals Garston prevailed in the EBA 2 Fours, the English Wills and the club 11.

Worse was to come as Townsend went out of the London and Southern Counties shield on Sunday by five shots to the City of Oxford in a four rink match that fluctuated first one way then the other.

The club resources were stretched by having to play four District League games where Townsend defeated North Mymms and Hatfield, and lost to Welwyn Garden and St Albans.

Townsend are still challenging for the District League and hope for success in the coming weeks. This weekend sees Townsend playing friendlies against Owls and Potten End.

Finally it is a full week for County and District competitions with the club being well represented.
