HARPENDEN Town were without a game for the second weekend in a row as their match at Royston Town on Saturday fell victim to a frozen pitch. Town boss Phil Childs has hardly been able to get the club's new era going, and after two postponements he will be desperate for the match with Biggleswade Town to go ahead on Saturday. Club chairman Nick Archer believes the much criticised surface at Rothamsted Park will be fine. He said: "It will be alright this weekend. We must make sure we play this match on Saturday. Two weeks ago it was too muddy to play on, because it was so wet." Archer has arranged for work to be done to the pitch on Thursday to flatten it out prior to the Biggleswade clash. He said: "We plan to be rolling and chaining and harrowing it to flatten out the bumps. Hopefully that will all be done as planned on Thursday.
