Castle has high hopes for youngster

FOOTBALL League side Torquay United are showing an interest in Saints’ midfielder Ollie Kelly.

The former Reading academy man has been in excellent form in City’s midfield in recent weeks and netted his first goal for the club in their 2-2 draw with Dartford on Tuesday, earning huge plaudits from boss Steve Castle.

“Ollie Kelly...can be anything he wants to be, I really do think he could probably be one of the best midfield players at this level,” said Castle after the Dartford game.

“I know Torquay are interested in him and I think he’ll probably go… into League Football and I think he deserves it.”

Kelly’s brother Julian is still on the books at Reading and is currently on loan at Torquay’s npower League Two rivals Lincoln City.
