Wendy Webster finished in the top 100 at the National Cross Country Championships, which took place in a very muddy Parliament Hill on Saturday.

The women’s team, led by Webster, who finished in 76th place in a field of 865 runners, placed 27th overall out of the 93 teams competing. The Striders’ men’s team were 71st overall. First to finish the gruelling 12 kilometre race was Adam Dunajko in 469th place, up against over 2,000 others competing.

In the St Albans Parkrun, Lucy Waterlow and Jenny Maddocks were the first and second female runners to finish in times of 19:36 and 20:24 respectively.

Both Jack Brooks and Sarah Bower represented the Striders in Malta this weekend, Brooks finishing the marathon in 3:46:23 and Bower the half marathon in a new personal best time of 1:46:14.
