ST Albans City striker Lewis Toomey has departed Clarence Park for Blue Square Bet South side Boreham Wood FC.

The Woods announced the signing of the 21-year-old this afternoon on their club website.

Toomey was the Saints’ first signing of last summer joining the club from Hemel Hempstead Town.

He had scored 11 league goals this season, the last of which came in the 6-2 loss to Chesham United on New Year’s Day.

It will come as a disappointment for Saints fans who have already seen the likes of forward Barry Hayles, full-back Ryan Watts and midfielders Micah Hyde and David Ijaha leave the club since the departure of ex boss David Howell.
