ATHLETICS: A FORMER Oaklands College sprinter has proved to be an instant hit in the United States.

Tonderai Tomu recently transferred to Chicago De Paul University making an instant impression by breaking the track record in his first meet for his new university.

Head coach at De Paul University Athletics Patrick Savage commented: "Tonderai has settled in magnificently here at De Paul. Our friends at Oaklands College in St Albans, England, have a great program for athletes in their junior years.

Gary Anderson, Academy and Performance Director at Oaklands College commented: "We are all very proud of what Tonderai has achieved over at De Paul University and knowing Tonderai, this is just the start.
