Striders Gary Warren, Martin Whitworth and Jacob Hine took first, second and fourth places at the Borehamwood 10k this weekend.

Ben Walsh came second in the Seabank Trail Marathon between Boston and Skegness in 3hrs 19mins and Wendy Webster was the first female at the Hitchin Hard Half Marathon, where Charlotte Holloway, in a personal best time, Andrew Hull and Petra Grosse also ran.

St Albans Striders were also competing in numerous other races in the UK and France. Doug Hobson completed the Bury St Edmunds five-mile race on Friday in 32mins 2secs and Ben Scott and Wai Meng Au-Yeong finished the 69-mile Wall Ultramarathon from Carlisle Castle to Newcastle in 21hrs 30mins.

Tamsyn Clark, Christina Smith, Stuart Clark, Katie Chilton and Claire Sharp all ran the tough off-road Ashridge Half Marathon and Doug Hobson (1:11) and Jack Haynes (1:29) completed the Stortford 10 mile race.

In the Transbaie (Baie de Somme) 17k race in France, Strider Adam Mellor ran through salt marshes, waist deep water and deep gullies to finish in an excellent time of 1hr 56mins in very hot conditions.
