STUART Thurgood won three gold medals at the Eastern Veterans Championships on Saturday.
The London Colney athlete came away from the event held in Sandy with first-placed finishes in the discuss, shot put and hammer throw.
Competing in the M35 category, he threw discuss 35.40m. the shot put 13.07m - one of his furthest ever outdoor performances - and finished the day with a season’s best throw of 57.10m in the hammer.
Thurgood now has the next British Athletics League Premiership match in his sights, as well as the British Masters Weight Pentathlon Championships later in July, where he will look to go one better on his silver medal from last year.
