Codicote 2 Park Street Village 0

PARK Street Village boss Ryan Thompson was disappointed with the attitude of his players after they lost 2-0 to Codicote.

The two sides were level at the break, and with the conditions in Village's favour after the interval they fancied an away win.

However, Thompson's game plan was immediately thrown out of the window as Codicote scored inside a minute of the restart and a second goal five minutes later sealed PSV's fate.

"The pitch was a joke," fumed PSV boss Thompson afterwards. "It was worse than a rugby pitch but they adapted to it better than we did.

"We seemed to give up which was the most disappointing thing. Some players seem to think they're better than they really are. The lads up front were just lazy and didn't want to work. When we went two goals down they didn't look bothered.

Thompson's side face one of their biggest challenges of the season this weekend when they tackle local rivals London Colney. It's the first time the two sides have met competitively and Thompson wants an improved performance from his players.

"When we started there were six divisions between us and they were one of the top teams in the South Midlands league. They've got good players like Frank Jowle and Dave Parkinson and we're definitely underdogs but it's a cup match and anything can happen - we've got to roll our sleeves up and show some passion.

"We're down to the bare bones but we'll give it a good go and if the lads show a better attitude we might give them a bit of a scare.
