St Albans City have announced the signing off highly-touted striker Louie Theophanous
The 23-year-old England C international instantly bolsters the Saints’ striking ranks, which has been found wanting at times during pre-season.
Theophanous scored 26 goals for Staines Town in the 2013/14 campaign, the most by any striker in the league, leading to a move to Farnborough. Then, in March, Sutton United took him on loan for the remainder of the season.
Theophanous’ future looked to be at Sutton but St Albans City have managed to secure his services at Clarence Park.
Joint manager James Gray said: “This has become a marquee signing for us and shows the calibre of player we can attract to the club. Louie is a dynamic player and has already proved himself to be a top, top striker at this level. He can’t wait to get started and begin his career as a Saint.”
