City of St Albans Swimming Club convincingly won their first round of Division 1 of the Peanuts League at Stevenage.
Against swimmers from Watford, Stevenage, Tring, Harpenden and Potters Bar, CoStA, who were sponsored on the day by Berry Recruitment, won 33 of the 49 events and came second in 11, with some impressive individual performances and a number of personal bests
Head coach Stewart Melton said, “From the nine-year olds in their first races to the 12-year olds in their final Peanuts season, all our swimmers raced out of their skins.”
It was a promising start to this year’s Herts Peanuts League for CoStA’s B Team at Hitchin on Saturday night. After a closely fought first half, and with only four points between the first three places, CoStA put in some storming swims to strengthen their lead.
The whole team pulled together to win most of the relays, with the 10-year-old boys’ in particular putting in outstanding performances throughout the night. CoStA came a close second in the Squadron Relay. They finished the night with an impressive lead and are eagerly anticipating the next round in
