EIGHT Swimmers from City of St Albans Swimming Club secured top-10 positions at the Hertfordshire County Swimming Championships held at Borehamwood.
During March the top swimmers from across the county competed for medals and the BAGCAT (British Age Group Category) results were confirmed by the Amateur Swimming Association. In the boys championships, Jack Baron finished second in the 13-year-olds group, Robbie Lightowler took fourth in the 11-year-olds and Luke Foster finished fourth in the nine-year-old category.
Chloe Beard (fourth) and Anne-Marie DuPreez (fifth) in the 12-year-old girls both improved on last year and Katie Lightowler and Holly Winfield finished sixth and eighth respectively in the 13-year-old girls, with Emily Keith 10th overall in the 10-year-old girls.
During the Easter holidays, 50 members of the club are away at a training camp at the Olympic training facility at Loughbough University, ahead of the CoStA Club Championships to be held on Saturday, April 5 at Hatfield Sports Village.
