A St Albans City fans group plan to march through the town on Saturday prior to the club’s fourth qualifying round match of the FA Cup – to help drum up support.

Stand By Your Saints will meet at the St Albans Clock Tower at 1pm before making their way through St Peters Street towards Clarence Park, leaving plenty of time to socialise in the Saints clubhouse before the game.

They will also be handing out limited edition keyrings and other goodies along the way with the hope being that others will join them and help swell the attendance at the ground.

A spokesman for the group said: “If victorious on Saturday, the Saints will be in the hat for the first round proper of the FA Cup and could land a tie against a side from Skybet Leagues One or Two.

“The team will need all the support they can on Saturday so please try and make the game at Clarence Park.”

Saints joint-manager, Jimmy Gray, has already said that Saints fans “inspire” them and is hoping for a big crowd.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 3pm.
