SUPER subs Dan Cockerton and Darren Shea secured a superb 3-1 win at promotion chasers Mill End Sports in Rickmansworth on Saturday.
The Saints welcomed back some key players but were soon facing a tough task after a freak early goal for the hosts. A long ball forward evaded the defence and goalkeeper Johnny Shearer allowing a simple tap in for 1-0.
Gradually with determination and hard work, the Saints forced their way back into the contest and equalised through Mark Savory who brushed aside his marker and showed good pace to break clear for his 10th of the campaign.
The Saints restricted their hosts to few chances in the second half and with time running out, Cockerton raced through the home rearguard to fire an excellent shot home for 2-1.
The celebrations were still in full swing for the Saints when Shea picked up a long clearance and lashed a speculative effort high into the net.
The 3-1 win was a delight for management duo Andy Goodchild and Mitch Morris. The Saints have three fixtures left and go away to Bedwell Rangers for a 3pm kick off on Saturday.
