Six fencers from the Paul Davis Fencing Academy in St Albans have been crowned County Champions.

The academy put forward a total of 38 members to the event, which was for fencers aged between 10 and 20, eventually walking away with a total of 22 medals.

Luke Barbour, Oscar Mogie and Gabby Karouzis took sabre titles while Owen Grosvenor, Thomas Clayton and Alex Culkin were successful with the foil.

The other medal winners were: Robert Guy, Bruno Winter, Amelia Price, Ruby Reed, Noah Brown, Flo Reayen, Asher Stevens, Bradley West, Thomas Clayton, Thomas Edwards, Kyriacos Karouzis, Meghan Pick, Anna Dunham, Nathalie Culkin and Catherine Flury.

Paul Davis said: “I am so proud of how the fencers performed on the piste and gathered around their team mates to cheer them on when they needed them most.”
