STRIKER Akanni-Sunday Wasiu believes he has done enough to earn a permanent move to Colchester United after impressing in three trial games.

The powerful Nigerian notched his third goal for the League One side to open the scoring in a 6-2 win against Conference outfit Woking on Tuesday evening. He had earlier scored against Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts. Sunday, who netted three goals in 13 City appearances last term, told Herts Advertiser sports reporter David Brawn that he is feeling settled at the U's. He said: "Things have been good at Colchester. I am staying there. The manager is happy with me and he likes the way I play.

"The first goal I scored was shooting and the second goal was placing and the goal yesterday (Tuesday) was nodding. The players are nice and they are good players. They play the ball on the ground and I am very happy to play with these type of people. I am happy that if I give somebody a pass he can give me back the pass because he will not lose the ball. I have confidence in them and they have confidence in me. It is good.
