City of St Albans Swimming Club’s A and B teams are well placed to compete for the Peanuts League Division One crown at the final event on July 4.

The teams set up a possible title-push with excellent swims in round two at the Furzefield Centre in Potters Bar.

Against teams from Bishop’s Stortford, Hatfield, Hertford, Potters Bar and Stevenage, defending champions CoStA A were narrowly beaten by Hatfield, having been level with them on points at the halfway stage.

There were also some emphatic wins for many of the relay teams and some impressive individual performances.

At Hemel Hempstead, CoStA’s B team swam against teams from Watford, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Verulam and coming fourth was a ‘great result’, said coach Kate Chadwick.
