Nearly 30 Springfield Striders took part in the Covid-safe 10k race at Lee Valley Run Fest on Sunday. All competitors reported the race was very well-organised, with runners setting off in waves.
Wendy Walsh (43:23) was first in the FV50 category (and sixth lady overall) while Jenny Maginley (41:27) was third lady and second FV40. Kate Dixon (44:10) and Kathryn Penfold (44:53) were also in the top 10 women.
For the Striders men, first home was Jordan Lister a personal best time of 36:16 and 13th place, closely followed by fellow Striders Gareth Parker (36:36), Tony Brady-Locke (36:39) and Matt Harrison (37:09) all in the top 20. Parker was also 4th MV40.
Other Striders who achieved personal best times included John Cooper (39:35), Phil Brindle (41:33), Clare Tyley (55:25) and Steven Harrison (57:58).
Elsewhere, Joanne Tang and Eileen Sindole took part in the Water and Windmill 10-mile trail event.
