St Albans Striders were racing all over England this weekend.
In the Dry Hill 10 mile race in Surrey Graham Smith finished 3rd overall in a time of 61:49 whilst in the Weald Park 10k in Essex Steve Smith finished 8th in 43:30 and first-placed Vet 50.
In the Maidenhead Half Marathon there were personal bests for Si Fraser 79:46 and Wendy Walsh 89:42. Also finishing were Ian Nichol 95:40, Richard Wilcox 1:46:19 and Amy Heap 2:05:47.
In the Great North Run on Tyneside the Striders finishing the half-marathon distance included Ian Markwell 1:40:23, Matt Hunt 1:43:44, Ian Hirth 1:47:31, Caroline Skyrme 2:17:07, Jennifer Findlay 2:20:17 and Jenna Pickering 2:27:30.
Closer to home the St Albans 5k Parkrun was led home by Steve Buckle in 16:42 with Mark Castleton 5th in 17:43 and Martin Whitworth 6th in 17:47 and Ed Bailey 9th in 18:05. Jenny Maddocks was first lady in 19:47.
