THE Richmond Park Trail Marathon was voted the best new race of 2012 by the readers of Runners World and on Sunday Kathryn Hall chose the event for her 100th marathon.

In spite of suffering with a persistent achilles tendon injury, Hall completed the race in 4hrs 38mins. Deborah Steer competed in the Bristol 10k road race, finishing in 39mins 42secs.

Twelve Striders completed the Milton Keynes Marathon on a Bank Holiday Monday. Patrick Green (3hrs 23mins) led the pack followed closely by Colin Braybrook (3hrs 30mins); Marcus Hooper (3hrs 37mins); Jenny Maddocks (3hrs 48mins); Errol Maginley (3hrs 51mins); Leigh Ecclestone (3hrs 51mins); Nick Bradley (3hrs 57mins); Chris Davies (4hrs 11mins); Marc Phillips (4hrs 11mins); Peter Clarke (4hrs 21mins); Emma Ward (4hrs 20mins) and Peter Rogers (4hrs 22mins).

Once again there was a large turnout of 230 participants for the weekly St Albans 5k Parkrun. Mark Castleton (17mins 37secs) was the first male Strider to cross the line and Lucy Waterlow (19mins 36secs) was the first female Strider.
