Striders excel at South of England Fell Running Championship

St Albans Striders were once again racing up and down the country.

The Isle of Wight Fell Running Championship incorporated the South of England Fell Running Championship. This involved three separate races of 3.8k, 12k and 21k distances with steep ascents and descents. Graham Foster finished second in the MV50 age group; Wendy Webster finished third lady.

In the Grunty Fen Half Marathon near Ely, Nairn McWilliams finished 12th in an excellent time of 1:09:41 with Paddy Brice not far behind in 1:21:29.

Steve Buckle led the 5k St Albans Parkrun in a time of 16:33. Ed Bailey was fourth in 17:53 and Mark Castleton 10th in 19:08. Judy Willits was second lady finisher in 20:59.

Jack Brooks ran the Chesterfield Marathon in 4:01. Shona Davies ran the Bacchus Half Marathon in 2:07, Caroline Skyrme and Dave Skyrme ran the Run to the Beat 10k in 1:00, Jean Webb finishing in 1:08:00.
