Paul Adams took first place at the inaugural Hatfield 5-mile race on Sunday.
The Striders were out in full force at the event and ran home with both the men’s and women’s races.
The women’s team was made up of Wendy Webster (31:14), Wendy Walsh (31:15) Deborah Steer (32:19) and Lucy Martin (34:51) and the men’s included winner Adams (25:57), Graham Foster (29:46), Martin Whitworth (29:57) and Richard Harry (30:47). Mark Taplin also took first place for the MV50 age group category and placed 13th overall with a time of 29:25.
The Striders were also competing in Spain this week where Gary Warren took second place in the MV40 calss at the Lanzarote 10K and Jack Brooks completed the San Sebastian marathon in 3:50:02.
Meanwhile, in the St Albans Parkrun, Striders took the top spots for both the women’s and men’s categories with Wendy Walsh coming in at 19:18 followed by Jenny Maddocks (20:14) and Helen Cartlidge (20:17). Stephen Buckle and Adam Dunajko took first and second place overall with times of 16:45 and 17:28 respectively.
