Becky Stone walked away from Europe’s biggest amateur boxing show, the Haringey Box Cup, with a gold medal draped around her neck.

Stone, who was representing St Albans and London Colney ABC, outpointed Shakiba Moghadom, of Gym 01 in Portsmouth, to win the title at Alexandra Palace.

The Haringey Box Cup became the biggest boxing event to ever take place in Britain when as many as 550 boxers fought over three days in four rings inside Ally Pally. The competition draws in boxers, all over 16 years old, from as far away as Nepal and in its eight year history has been won by three Olympic gold medal-winners: Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor and Nicola Adams.
