CROSS COUNTRY: ST ALBANS Girls’ School (STAGS) ended their cross country season on a high with a top 20 finish at the National Schools Cross Country Finals on Saturday.
The squad, which consisted of Tabitha Wendell, Alex Weddell, Alex Bentley, Georgia Robin, Jess Barnes, Susie Williams and Lucy Day with Heather Geers in reserve, completed the course in the grounds of Alnwick Castle in 15th place and the school’s head of PE, Lauren Cripps, was delighted.
“This has been the culmination of a fantastic cross country season at STAGS,” she said.
“The whole school is proud of what these girls have achieved. Next year they will be more experienced and stronger and will be in a position to contest the higher places in both regional and national competitions.”
