Hayley Ladd, 20, started both the 5-1 win away at Turkey and the 1-1 draw at home to Ukraine, Megan Wynne, 21, came off the bench to face Turkey before missing out on the Ukraine fixture through injury and Josie Green, 20, was an unused substitute in both fixtures.

A first half hat-trick from captain Jess Fishlock, as well as goals from Sarah Wiltshere and Natasha Harding saw Wales run out comfortable winners in Turkey, with Ladd, who attended St Albans Girls’ School, playing the full 90 minutes in central midfield and Wynne, a former pupil at Beaumont School, coming on in the second half.

Earning her 23rd cap, Ladd again played the full match as a goal from Natasha Harding cancelled out Ukraine’s opener to earn Wales a crucial point.

The points leave Wales in second place in World Cup Qualifying Group Six, five points behind leaders England ahead of the home qualifier against Montenegro next month.
