A talented skier from St Albans has been selected for the England Alpine Squad.

Nia Boty, who goes to St Albans School, will take her place in the U14 British Ski and Snowboard (BSS) development group.

The 13-year-old is trained by the British Ski Academy when abroad and also attends Hemel Ski Race Club when at home.

Her goals for the upcoming season are to improve her overall skiing and finish in the top seven of all races she enters.

Snowsport England chief executive and BSS director Tim Fawke said: “Nia is one of our athletes who has followed the talent pathway from her early years of ski racing and is well on track to achieve her potential.”

Boty hopes to spend as much time as possible training and racing on-snow this winter, before a busy summer of ski racing in the UK.
