St Albans Schools’ district football sides had mixed fortunes on their travels to Gloucester.
The B’s found it tough and they succumbed 5-0. The main difference was the finishing as Gloucester were clinical in the final third.
The A team however, came away with a superb 1-0 win in the Berks League. Sean Walsh netted the winning goal in the last five minutes as he got in front of his marker and planted his header past the keeper.
It could, and probably should, have ended 2-0 as the Gloucester keeper made a world class save low down at his left post from Jack McShane. This is only the third time a St Albans Schools side have won away in Gloucester.
