ST ALBANS Ladies 1st XI drew their opening league game this season 1-1 away against Horsham HC.
The side knew it would be a closely contested, match but felt ready for the challenge. Despite sitting on the m25 for what seemed like forever, and having the start time put back, St.Albans managed to remain focused. Quickly organising themselves and putting all of their pre seasons hard work into action.
With some great link up play throughout the side St.Albans looked the more threatening team, and on the 14th minute man of the match Clare Beattie hammered home a great goal to give St.Albans a 1-0 lead.
Horsham had a few chances, but St.Albans stayed disciplined across the park warding off any potential threats and going into half as the leaders.
After a shaky start to the second half, St.Albans once again found their composure and treated to score once more. However despite some fantastic build up play the side couldn’t find that finishing touch.
Unfortunately on the 56th minute Horsham were awarded a dubious short corner which they managed to convert, taking the score line to 1-1.
