St Albans-based Paul Davis Fencing Academy showed its true strength on Saturday at the Hertfordshire Junior County Championships.
Based at Herts Sports Village, the event had its largest ever entry of 135 fencers from U10s to U20s. Team PDFA entered 60 fencers from across their classes.
Team PDFA won 27 medals, with seven County Champions.
Gold medals were won by Anna Dunham in the over-13 Sabre, Own Grosvenor in the U20 boys’ Foil, Luke Barbour in the U16 boys’ Foil and Gabriella Karouzis in the U12 girls’ Sabre. Alex Culkin took silver in the U12 boys’ Foil.
Team PDFA now coaches 500 children from across Hertfordshire and has 17 fencers qualified form the British Youth Championships which are in Sheffield next week.
