ST ALBANS Ladies made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 win over third placed side Southgate at Clarence Park.

The Ladies secured the win with both goals coming in a six-minute spell. Eleanor Bevan opened the scoring for the Saints in the 47th minute firing home following a penalty corner.

The points were secured when Sarah Embrey smashed home a penalty stroke for her fourth goal of the campaign.

The result leaves the Saints in seventh spot and they have now created some breathing space between them and the bottom three sides.

St Albans Men drew 1-1 with third placed side Havering in the East Men's Premier A division while in Premier B a Russell Timms strike was not enough to stop Harpenden losing 3-1 to Crostyx.

Harpenden continued where they had left off after defeating St Albans 2s last week with a 4-2 win against Old Loughtonians. Harps got off to a dream start after an opposition tackle in the 'D' that allowed Laura Jackson to expertly convert a penalty flick.

Emma Lythgoe doubled Harpenden's league with a reverse-stick flick from a narrow angle over the 'keeper.

Lythgoe then doubled her tally when Jacqlyn Clark's shot from a penalty corner rebounded off the 'keeper, allowing Lythgoe to roll it around the 'keeper and in to the net. Old Loughtonians reduced the deficit with a goal from a penalty corner, but Harpenden restored their three-goal advantage with a goal from Sabrina Jayaseelan. The opposition scored a second from another penalty corner but it wasn't enough to stop Harpenden taking the points.
