St Albans CityYouth: Warriors fight back to earn a point

Playing at home to AC Finchley, U18 Warriors came back from being 2 – 0 down at half time to earn a point with a 2 – 2 draw. Scoring the goals for the Warriors was Jake Ponte with two well taken goals.
U18 East lost 4 – 0 against Croxley Guild Green with Jake Lachaui being named man of the match.
Man of the match Olly Innes scored the only goal for the Under 18’s North in their 3 – 1 defeat by Whetstone Wanderers Jaguars.
The next game on the same pitch as the Under 18’s Warriors was U16 South, who also found themselves 2 – 0 down at half time. They also hit back to earn a point with a 2 – 2 draw. Scoring the goals for the Saints were Emilio Rodriquez and Isiah Manney. There was also a joint man of the match which was shared between two playing making their debuts, Alfie martin and Emilio Rodriquez.
U16 West lost 2 – 0 in their game with Whetstone in the league with the hard working Sehej Sethi being named man of the match.
In the league cup the U15 South took on Hampstead and won the game 4 – 1 with ben Gosling scoring two goals and then came singles from Ronan Marie Moutou and Adam Skinner. The man of the match went to Omar Bounyafe.
After and exciting end to end game the U15 East lost 6 – 4 to Brady Maccabi reds with goals from Dan Miles 2, Jake penny and Ollie Pawlaczek.
Playing local rivals Harvesters, U15 North won the game 2 – 0 with goals from Curtis Finch and Chris Hubbard.
A goal from William Ibbotson earned U15 Orient a point after a 1 – 1 draw with Herons Orange.
Playing away to Berkhamsted Raiders was U15 Central who won easily by six goals to one. Leading the goal scorers was Samual Abington with two, then came singles from Ricky Grant, Ollie Brett, Tyrel Foster and Cameron Ferguson.
At home to Bovingdon Storm were U14 East and they drew 2 – 2 with goals from Samuel Abrahams and Elliot Osborne, Harry Doherty was named man of the match.
What with the clocks going back an hour U14 Orient were caught napping in slumberland as that extra hour of sleep did them no good as they lost 4 – 0 to AEK Athens Black.
Away to Belstone in the league, U14 North go down 2 – 0 with the man of the match going to Matthew Breeze.
In a division one fixture U13 North played away to Everett Rovers and after a very close game the North emerged winners 4 – 2. Billy Owen got two goals with Jarvis Wilkins one and one also for man of the match Thomas Geller who had an excellent game in the centre of midfield.
Playing Potters Bar in the Challenge Cup were U13 Central and they went on to win the game 8 – 0. Nathan Hossen scored four goals, Max Hodgson two, then came Nick Rolfe and Lucas King with one goal each.
U13 West lost 3 – 1 to Aston Clinton with Adam Johnson scoring their only goal of the match.
At half time the score line was 0 – 0 in the game between U13 East and FC 66 Lions but in the second period, after Aaron Peter was moved forward into midfield the game completely changed. The Under 13’s East really played some neat passing football and went on to win the game 5 – 0. Scoring the Saints goals were Bradley Osborn 2, Fazan Uddin, Carriagh Fennessy and Aaron Peter. The man of the match went to defender Ryan Ward.
There was no joy for U13 Orient as they lost their unbeaten record for the season so far as they went down 3 – 1 on penalties after extra time in the Challenge Cup to Oxhey Jets. At half time the visitors were leading 1 – 0 but Orient made it 1 – 1 when a Nick Curtis corner kick curled into the back of the net midway into the second half. With both sides going in search of the winner man of the match Sam Doherty was everywhere, sweeping up at the back and clearing any danger. So the match then went to penalties with the Orient going down 3 – 1 and out of the Challenge Cup.
U12 Central were unlucky not to get a point despite losing to FC Hemel 3 – 0. The Central played some fine attacking football with Matt Roome twice hitting the post and Luke Hill once. The man of the match went to Rob Brown who worked hard up front.
Scoring two goals for U12 East in their 4 – 2 win over FC Finchley was Diego Pazaram-Butler, whilst Alex Manzi and man of the match Fin Pile both scored one goal apiece.
Playing at home to East Herts Youth were U11 West, and after a tight and close game the West eventually lost 3 – 1. The man of the match went to Tristan Barrie, who also scored his first goal for the club.
U11 South, playing away to Chorleywood Hurricanes in the Senior Cup saw James Justice score a brilliant headed goal to make it 1 – 1. But alas the Under 11’s South finally ended up losing 3 – 1. The man of the match went to the hard working Sam Hicks.
U11 Central playing Ware Youth Blue lost 5 – 3 after a real end to end match with the lead changing hands a couple of times. Scoring for the central were Max Tym with a brace and Daragh Gallagher with one.
A well worked team goal which was finished off in style by James Hilton gave U11 East Blue a 1 – 0 win against Ware Youth.
U11 East Yellow played away to Bury Rangers and drew 1 – 1 with Freddie Laycock scoring their goal, his first for the team.
In a friendly against Wheathamstead, U10 East won by three goals to nil with the goals being scored by George Wilson, Callum McGuire and Ryan Ellis.
Another team playing a friendly were U9 West and they won the game against Potters Bar Knights 8 – 1. Scoring most of the goals was Cody Smith with six, yes six goals, followed up with singles from Jonathan Harris and man of the match Sam Mills.
At home to FC Hemel saw U9 Victoria win the game 4 – 1 after leading 3 – 1 at half time with Zak Davies scoring a fine hat trick, Freddie Rowe scored the fourth goal. Keeper Reece Dire produced a save that had everyone applauding. Somehow Reece was laying on the ground after blocking a shot and got up to tip the ball over the bar from a follow-up effort. Another player who had an excellent game was Oscar Bell.
St Albans City Youth FC – Girls
U15 South won 3 – 0 against Bishops Stortford with some well taken goals from Shamika Powell, Abbie Smith and Aimee Smith. Defender Lauryn Edwell was named player of the match.
Two goals from Jessica Leigh helped U14 North win 2 – 0 against Bengeo, the player of the match went to the hard working Isobel Todd.
Playing the top side in the league, Kings Langley Girls were the U14 South and they won 3 – 1 with player of the match Kira Close scoring the first goal, then came efforts from Charlotte Banks and Ellie Holder.
There was no stopping Katie Holder after she scored he first goals. She went on to score another five to take her tally to six in the game for U12 Girls in their 11 – 1 win over Bishops Stortford. Scoring the other goals were Mariona (Maz) Horne-Batet 2, Georgia McConechie, Anna Guiford and one from player of the match Jessica Simpson.
