St Albans City to carry on signing new players

Harry Wheeler will carry on introducing new players to St Albans City – if it helps keep the club in the Vanarama National League South.
There have been a number of incomings and outgoings at Clarence Park over the last few weeks as the new manager attempts to find the right balance to avoid relegation.
And despite the inherent risks that policy brings, he will continue to do it.
He said: “The question you ask yourself when you bring people in is are they better than what we’ve got? Are they going to improve you on Saturday? We don’t bring people in for the sake of it.
“It’s the hardest thing when you take over a side and you need to make changes after a time because it does disrupt things.
“So your choice is to either continue as it was, but things were like that for a reason, or you and try and change it and hope it gels quicker than it would normally.
“I think the ones that have come in have helped. Charlie [MacDonald] has affected games since he’s been here. Al Bangura was excellent against Truro but was a big loss when he got injured against Dartford.
“Those two have helped it. It’s just the results that need to turn. Performance-wise they’ve made us look solid.
“With someone like Al in the side you can guarantee we won’t be getting beat as heavily as we were before. He and the likes of Scott Thomas do shore things up.”
He was speaking after St Albans lost their Herts Senior Cup semi-final tie with Hitchin Town on Monday night.
That game saw Wheeler mix things up and included a number of trialists.
And the young boss said it was all part of the bigger picture, with the focus most definitely on the game against Concord Rangers on Saturday.
He said: “Everything is geared towards Saturday. Some of the lads who started [against Hitchin] will start on Saturday.
“There were first-teamers out there, this wasn’t a youth team but at the same time there were a few crucial first-teamers who weren’t.
“It is what it is. We saw bits, some players got minutes. It was massive for Eddie Oshodi to get 45 minutes tonight and that will be important come Saturday.”
