St Albans City's two-goal hero Junior Morias was left "gutted" after their FA Cup exit to Carlisle United.
The striker made it six goals in three games since returning from a five-match suspension, with the first being one of the sweetest strikes you will see at any level of football this season.
But in the end it wasn’t enough as City lost 5-3 to their Sky Bet League Two opponents.
He said: “I’m gutted for the boys. They’ve been excellent and you can’t fault their effort. Obviously it’s good to score but I’m just gutted for the team.
“I feel good in myself, I feel confident but I’m just gutted we’ve lost. Good luck to Carlisle in the next round but we’ve just got to focus on the league now.
“We’re a strong bunch of lads. The gaffer said in the changing rooms that we were unlucky but the focus is now Tuesday.
“The boys are strong-minded. Yes we’ve lost but we actually didn’t do too bad. We worked hard and we gave our all and hopefully [against Dartford] we’ll come again, we’ll stick together and see what happens.
“I’m just gutted we didn’t get the result we deserved, or even a draw.”
His performance, as well as that of the team, certainly made a few people sit-up and take notice, with members of the national press commenting how impressed they were.
And that increased exposure could bring a stream of suitors to the doors of Clarence Park.
Morias, however, is just focused on his job at the club and becoming a better player.
He said: “I’m a St Albans player and that’s what it is. I don’t [worry about speculation]. We’re out of the FA Cup so we’ve just got to focus on the league. That’s where my focus is at.
“When I shoot I never watch it hit the net. It’s more of a technique thing which I just practice, practice, practice and hopefully that makes perfect.
“It’s not about me, it’s about the team. The boys have been excellent and the fans were unreal, they put tears in my eyes.
“They were great today. I want to thank the fans also.”
