Archant

St Albans City produced their best performance of the year to destroy Whitehawk – and boost their chances of beating the drop.

Four goals from Charlie MacDonald laid the foundation for the 6-0 win with Louie Theophanous and Jonathan Edwards completing the rout.

The win was Saints’ first success in 12 league outings and while it doesn’t lift the club out of the Vanarama National League South relegation places, it will undoubtedly boost the confidence.

Leigh Page was on hand to capture Saturday’s drama.
